Taking a booking over the phone

Updated 10 September 2026·1 min read

Putting a job in yourself, so the diary is the whole picture rather than half of it.

Plenty of work still arrives by phone call. Put it in Callout anyway, because a diary that only holds half your jobs cannot protect the other half from being double booked.

A normal job

From Today or Calendar, add a booking. Pick the service, pick a time from what you actually have free, and put in the client's name and number.

The client gets the same confirmation and the same live job page as somebody who booked themselves, so they get the delay alerts too.

A one-off that is not on your list

For bespoke work that does not fit a service, create a custom booking. You write the description and the price yourself, and you get an unlisted link to send that one person. It never appears on your public page.

This is the right tool for "can you do something a bit different for me", which is a conversation first and a booking afterwards.

Free plan

Bookings you add yourself count towards the 15 a month on the Free plan, the same as ones that arrive through your page. A job is a job.

Who it gets assigned to

On a solo account, you. On a team, whoever is qualified and free, decided at the moment the booking is made. If you took the call and you are free, it is yours. See adding someone to your team.
